箴言 9

智慧建造房屋，鑿成七根柱子， 2 宰殺牲畜，調和旨酒，設擺筵席， 3 打發使女出去，自己在城中至高處呼叫， 4 說：「誰是愚蒙人，可以轉到這裡來！」又對那無知的人說： 5 「你們來，吃我的餅，喝我調和的酒。 6 你們愚蒙人要捨棄愚蒙，就得存活，並要走光明的道。」

7 「指斥褻慢人的必受辱罵，責備惡人的必被玷汙。 8 不要責備褻慢人，恐怕他恨你；要責備智慧人，他必愛你。 9 教導智慧人，他就越發有智慧；指示義人，他就增長學問。 10 敬畏耶和華是智慧的開端，認識至聖者便是聰明。 11 你藉著我，日子必增多，年歲也必加添。 12 你若有智慧，是與自己有益；你若褻慢，就必獨自擔當。」

13 愚昧的婦人喧嚷，她是愚蒙，一無所知。 14 她坐在自己的家門口，坐在城中高處的座位上， 15 呼叫過路的，就是直行其道的人， 16 說：「誰是愚蒙人，可以轉到這裡來！」又對那無知的人說： 17 「偷來的水是甜的，暗吃的餅是好的。」 18 人卻不知有陰魂在她那裡，她的客在陰間的深處。

Proverbs 9

Wisdom has built her house,
She has hewn out her seven pillars;
2 She has slaughtered her meat,
She has mixed her wine,
She has also furnished her table.
3 She has sent out her maidens,
She cries out from the highest places of the city,
4 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!”
As for him who lacks understanding, she says to him,
5 “Come, eat of my bread
And drink of the wine I have mixed.
6 Forsake foolishness and live,
And go in the way of understanding.

7 “He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself,
And he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself.
8 Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you;
Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser;
Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 For by me your days will be multiplied,
And years of life will be added to you.
12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself,
And if you scoff, you will bear it alone.”

13 A foolish woman is clamorous;
She is simple, and knows nothing.
14 For she sits at the door of her house,
On a seat by the highest places of the city,
15 To call to those who pass by,
Who go straight on their way:
16 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here”;
And as for him who lacks understanding, she says to him,
17 “Stolen water is sweet,
And bread eaten in secret is pleasant.”
18 But he does not know that the dead are there,
That her guests are in the depths of hell.
