Many people have mentioned how the world has rapidly changed after the pandemic, and it feels like many plans can’t keep up with these changes. It’s because we experience change that we don’t stay stuck in the past. Through change, our lives can be renewed, and we can grow. On a deeper level, worldly events can also reflect spiritual matters. When we see the world changing quickly, it means that God’s hand is working rapidly too, leading us into a new season. God is doing new things among us!
In this new season of God’s work, we should have great expectations from Him. But what should we expect?
- Expect God’s restoration! When we think about God’s work, we realise that everything happens in seasons. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 tells us, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” There is a time for everything, including life and death, planting and uprooting. During the pandemic, we experienced much grief and loss. But just as winter passes, spring will surely come. If there has been a season of weeping, there will surely be a season of joy. If there has been a time of tearing down, there will come a time of rebuilding. Amen! In Joel 2:25, God promises to restore what has been taken by the enemy. So, never mourn over the enemy’s past works in our life. Instead, rejoice in the mighty works that God will accomplish!
- Expect God’s revival! Even in a dark and troubled world, God often brings revival when times are at their darkest. Throughout history, revivals have always come during times of great need. Today, we live in such a time, and it’s the perfect moment to ask God for revival. As Jesus promised in John 1:51, “You will see heaven open.” Through prayer, we can see revival and God’s hand at work.
- Never limit God’s work! When God tells us He will do something, our natural reaction is often to say, “That’s impossible!” But remember, with God, nothing is impossible. Whatever we see as unlikely, God can make happen.
We should dream big with God. God can do far more than we can imagine, and we must trust in His plans for us.
