No matter where we are from, what we have done, or what we have been through. The price that Jesus paid on the cross was enough to destroy the power of sin in our lives. Through His power of resurrection, we can all live in the beautiful lifestyle, the eternal life. The power of intimately walking with Jesus Christ, is the power of the Holy Spirit. Love and life are the fabric of intimacy. Jesus said, He is the Light of the world, and that we are the light of the world, and we should let our light shine before men. Through Jesus, the light that is within us shines.
1 John 2:10 says, “”
When Jesus’ light shines within us, then we can see. What is it that we can see? We see Jesus, we see angels, we see the Kingdom of Heaven that’s always been there, is there now, and will always be there. Intimacy is a deep expression of love, it’s like saying, in-me-see, ‘I will let you see within me’.
1 John 4:7-13 says, “”
God is love, and love is the first fruit of Jesus Christ. Our ability to love and love others is the evidence when we are walking in intimacy with Jesus. If His love is not in our life, then we need to think about if we are walking with Jesus or not. In the light of God’s presence through the power of His spirit, is the fullness of love and the fullness of joy. What’s so amazing about it, is no matter what is happening in our lives, it can be very good, it can be very difficult, but if we have Jesus, we have love, and we have joy. It’s through His light that His love flows, and through His light, we have an intimate knowledge of Him.
So why is it in His light we know Him? When we turn on the light in a dark room, what do we see? We see the furniture, we see the people, when we turn on the light, the darkness leaves immediately. In His light, there is no darkness at all. When we have intimate relationship with Jesus, we will understand the Bible. Things we couldn’t see before, because we were in darkness, are not revealed to us in His light. Revelation means unveil, without revelation, everything is hidden, and only through the light of His Spirit, we understand who Jesus is, and what’s written in the Bible. Intimacy reveals the Word of God.
When we have an intimacy with someone, we don’t hide what’s in our hearts and we don’t hide what’s in our mind. We are transparent and vulnerable. We will get to know each other better and this is part of the beauty of the Gospel of Jesus. As the followers of God, we can know Jesus so well because He is within us and we are in Him. Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot live like the teaching of the Bible. It’s like being a beautiful lamp, sitting on the table, but if it’s never plugged in, the light will never come on. Even when we turn on the switch, if it’s not plugged in, it will never light up.
We wonder why certain things don’t happen in our lives, we may be wondering why we are still having battles in life, we don’t see the hope, and we don’t see the answers to our lives. Because we don’t plug in the source, which is Jesus, then we turn on the switch, the light will come on and we begin to see. When we give our lives to Jesus, we surrender our mind, our heart, and our body to Him. He will come into our lives, and He will set us free. It doesn’t mean our world will change, but how we respond to the world will change. Through the light of Jesus Christ, we start to live this beautiful life, called the eternal life. When we have intimacy with Jesus, we will love one another.
Jon 17:3
When we choose to give Jesus our mind, our heart, and our body, this shows that we love Him. we sacrifice ourselves just like how He sacrificed for us. And when we give our lives in this way, we are walking into the destiny, which God gave us before we were born. It’s the light of God’s Spirit that gives us unity with Him an with one another. It’s like a holy energy that connects us all, but it’s actually Him. He is Light, and His Kingdom is the Kingdom of light. If His Light shines in our heart, not only our family will be touched, but also the world around us.
We have this treasure in the earthly body, contains the excellent power that does not belong to us but to God. The light that we have is not our own, the power that’s within us is not our own, but actually the hand of God touches us through a willing vessel. Jesus was our example, He came to the earth in the form of a man, 100% man, 100% God. Because we forgot how to see beyond the flesh, and through the cross and resurrection, He opens our eyes to once again, see the heavenly purpose. Jesus not only teaches us how to live, He also shows us who we are. All of us are created in the image of God’s likeness, and when we receive Jesus into our lives, through the power of His Spirit, we can live like God’s children. The more we know Jesus, the more we will start to know who we really are.
The greatest calling that anyone will have, is not becoming a pastor, or a CEO of a company, or a doctor, or a teacher… but to become the sons and daughters of God. When we learn to plug our lamp to the power source, we will start to live like Jesus. Look at the life of Jesus, all of us are called to live like Jesus, to love one another, and to move in the power of the Holy Spirit.
