Job 8

Rev Daniel Xi An Poon
V1-4 Job tried to proclaim, but people are trying to challenge his words and his faith. We know God is righteous, but other people may use words to challenge the righteousness God put in us. The devil will attack us with the things we are experiencing and the things our children are experiencing. It’s so easy to judge our lives with the results presented. When things happened we always want to look for the cause and the people to blame.
God continues to give us opportunity to return, 2000 years after Jesus proclaiming the message of repentance, God is still waiting for us to return to Him. When things happen unexpectedly, what is our attitude towards this experience? Do we blame God or our forefathers for what is happening to us? Who is the God we believe? Do we really live in the Word of God and the Tree of Life? If we do, then we will not be afraid, because we know God will hold us to the end.
First thing to do is to examine ourselves. Stop fault finding others and start looking at our own lives. Jesus wants us to wait for Him, He is coming back, and the Holy Spirit will help us during this time of waiting, to convict ourselves for sin, for righteousness and for judgement. What we speak out from our mouth reflects what we think inside our heart. Let us be watchful of what we say, when we lose peace and joy, first go back and see into our hearts.
Do we know who God created us to be? God created us and said it’s good. We must not give ourselves excuses, we should not say ‘this is who I am so I cannot change’ but we must believe God has a greater purpose for us. It’s not about receiving praises and encouragement everyday for us to feel good about ourselves, but to truely know who we are!
When we are willing to climb the mountain of God, we will experience Jehovah Jireh, He is our providence. When we give our lives to God, to come closer to God in the morning, let God clean our rubbish, He will be with us. When God is with us, who can be against us?
