V1-10 講約伯

Job’s friends started talk to him. The meaning of the name of Eliphaz is ‘fine gold’. In his words with Job, we can see that he believes in the more is sowed the more is reaped. But everything he said was in the past tense, he praised Job for his past, but didn’t comfort him in the present. This is what we tend to do, we talk about the past, we praise people about their past, but we fail to see what they really need in the present. We want to change people and change the environment, but can we really change anything?

Only God can change people, there’s nothing we can do but to rely on God. When people fail and face problems, do not make it worse by talking about the past.

V7-11 講神

Do we make conclusion from what we see or from what we pray? Job’s friend talked about what he saw, but was it really what God is doing? Without prayer, we can never really understand the heart of God.

V12-21

Instead of being a judge, we should be a helper. Instead of accusing people, we are to helping and supporting one another. As a member of the family, as a spouse, we are to help with action. It’s not about how well we can talk, but it’s about our heart. Eliphaz not only used his own words, he also used the Word of God to talk to Job. But is this really what Job needed? Job needed the prayers of his fiends. Today, God put many people around us because He also wants us to pray for them. We must humble ourselves and understand His Will.

Let us build a unity in love, let the love of God reveal in our lives!
