Love the Word of God

We all lead busy lives. It’s so difficult to find time to focus on God, we must set our lives apart for God everyday, find time to quiet down and meet our God face to face.
John 14:19-23
“Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?” Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.””
When God reveals His Word, by obeying His Word, we set ourselves apart from this world. This is why we are different to the people of the world. Bible is different to any other books, it’s for God’s children, and when we really accept our identity as His children, then we can easily understand the Word of God. On the other hand, we should not use God’s Word for us to discipline the others, those who don’t know Him. Because God’s Word is for us, it’s the most precious thing in the world for us, and nothing else is better!
When Moses was on the mountain, he stayed for 40 days and nights and didn’t want to come down. Because it was so good to have the Word of God, to see God face to face, and to talk to God. Without the Word of God, when our hearts are not satisfied, we will turn to the wrong focus. The Israelites didn’t have God’s Word, and when Moses was away for a long time, they made themselves a golden calf to worship. What is the golden calf in our lives? Have we shifted our focus from God to this world? It can never replace the eternity in our lives that only God can fulfil.
The Word of God is so important in our lives, we must shift back our focus to God, we don’t need the golden calf in our lives, anything in our lives cannot replace the Word of God, and with His Word, we will have His presence. The world has many similar things that may take out eyes away from Him, let us hold onto Him and not be sidetracked by anything else in this world!
