Rev Daniel Xi An Poon

When a father chooses to spoil his son by giving him everything the son wants, he also chooses to give up this son. But when the father chooses to continue to believe in his son’s return, and is willing to embrace his son when he comes back, eventually the relationship between the father and son will be restored. So today I’m going to share with you a great news:

When The Father Changes, The Whole Family Changes And Is Filled With Peace

Psalm 127:3-5 “Children are an inheritance from the LORD, and the womb is his reward. Children born in youth are like arrows in the hand of a warrior. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full. They will not be ashamed when they speak with their enemies at the gate of the city. “

Ephesians 3:14-16 “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.”

Malachi 4:6 “And He will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.”

Shalom, dear brothers and sisters. Today is Father’s Day in New Zealand, everyone will celebrate Father’s Day today. Here, I would like to bless every father among us who has worked hard for his family and children. Happy Father’s Day to you all! May God remember your efforts for your family and your children.

This is a time of thanksgiving and praise. We Christians celebrate Father’s Day, not only to give thanks and show respect to our earthly fathers, but also, more importantly, we want to remember and thank our heavenly Father for taking great care of us, giving us the salvation of Jesus Christ, and forgiving our sins.

No one is ready to be a father. Everyone begins to learn how to be a father by becoming a father. Each of us stumbles and learns how to be a good father! It’s easy to talk about how to be a good father, but it’s difficult to do it! Hardly any man boasts that “I am a good father”, but they always say “I did not play the role that a father should have”, and “we are always learning to be fathers through our mistakes.” The only thing we can be sure of is working hard and earning money to support our family, but work makes us tired and gives us burdens!

God’s will is to let every father have inheritance, rewards and blessings! Then becoming a dad should be a happy thing! But why as men, we feel it’s big and difficult?

The scripture says, children are given by the Lord, but the problem is, as fathers we do not connect with God and treat our children in God’s way, instead we manage them in our own way! God gives us Children as an inheritance, a reward, and a blessing, but we turn them into a nightmare!

In fact, Ephesians 3:14-16 has already revealed to us, “Therefore I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. I ask him, according to the riches of his glory, to by his Spirit, to strengthen you with power within you.”

So how can we receive this promise from God?

  1. Seek God humbly

Proverbs in the Bible mention that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom! We must teach and help our children according to the Bible, not using our way.

  1. Be strong and believe

Believe that old things have gone and all things are new! Look at your children from a new angle and new mindset.

Therefore, in the Bible, Malachi 4:6 says, “And He will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” So we must believe that when we as fathers turn our hearts to our children, their hearts will turn back to us, and our whole family will be blessed.

This is the promise that God has given to everyone of us today. “God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.” This is the great news that I want to share with you today!
