We’re the remaining ones, it’s not by accident but everything is in God’s plan. What is our attitude towards our life, we are living on this land, doing what we do, being what we are… are not by accident but by God’s choosing. Today we follow God and become Christians are not by accidents. So why are we chosen? Why are we here? What do we do what we do?

We’re reborn and renewed because of Jesus Christ therefore we must be responsible for our own life. We’re not here by accident, we’re not here by chance, but we are here to be the army of Jehovah. This is our destiny, this is what we’re created to be.

Section One V1-4 To Rely on God

Why did the Israelites keep their flocks of sheep? Not for clothing, not food food, but for offering to God. Moses was telling the Israelites not to be envious of the treasures and riches of the enemy, who had horses and chariots. God was with them and there’s nothing to fear. Furthermore, the army was led by the priests, not by army generals. But they must not be afraid because God was with them.

God is talking to us today, do not envy what others have, they have wealth, they have power, but we must have faith in God. Because when we have faith in God then we will not worry and we will not fear. We must not see the things of the world bigger and stronger than God. Do not be weakened, because all the troubles and worries we have in this world are not greater than God.

Section Two V5-9 To Fully Commit

We have a house to live, we have food to eat and we have clothes to wear are all by the Grace of God. Can we see that without God we cannot do anything? We must have a thanksgiving heart, and a close relationship with God. 

God first, people next, then the earth. Do we really have commitment in God and His Kingdom? Do not try to give ourselves excuses, do not try to calculate our lives. If our heart is not with God, then everything we do will be in vein. When we have fear and doubt, we will also influence others, others will know, and we will become a bad apple in the army. On the other hand, if we can fully rely on God, be commuted in His Army, then we have nothing to fear because God will be with us until the end.

Section Three V10-20 To Live out God’s Presence 

As Christians, everyone is looking at us, they want to see how much better the lives of Christians can become. We must bring out the presence of God to all the people, God gives chances to all people, so we also must show mercy to them.

At the same time we must set ourselves apart and not let the idols of the non-believers influence us. God treasure all of His creations, but if they reject God, then God is also righteous. Let us live out God’s presence, do not compromise with the world. When we are the Army of Jehovah, then He will train us, guide us, lead us to enter the Promised Land and receive the eternal blessings.

申命记 20 – 耶和华的军队

我们这些“剩下来的”人在神给我们的应许之地要如何行呢？世界给我们的观念就是凡事都是“偶然”，包括宇宙的形成、生物的进化、甚至跟从神的方式。老摩西教导神的百姓，我们能在神所赐的土地，这不是偶然的。耶稣基督两千年前来到世上拯救罪人，是神美好的计划。在基督里我们是重生的，我们愿意为生命负责任吗？我们若不愿意为生命负责，就只是一个投机的人。我们今天在这里，不是偶然的。我们跟从神，也不是随着自己的心情来偶然决定。神儿子高价将我们赎回来，要让我们成为耶和华的军队。世界鼓吹的是我们所向往的生活，但神不要我们成为劳碌一生去追债的人，他借着老摩西教导蒙召的百姓如何成为耶和华的军队。

一、v. 1-4 要倚靠神

V1 我们不要留在自己的舒适圈或山洞，而是“出去”争战。然而，当看到仇敌拥有的财富、资源时，我们的心态如何？以色列养“羊”主要目的不是为饮食或衣着，而是用来献祭的。“不要怕”就是“不要敬畏”的意思，神提醒百姓当他们看见仇敌资源充足时不要去羡慕，要知道他们能出埃及，是靠着耶和华。我们不要看到世界上的东西心里就融化了。

V2-3 这是神的仆人祭司对军队说的话。这段话原文圣经讲的是当我们与仇敌争战时不要变软弱，不要紧张害怕，也不要看仇敌过于所当看到，因为神会带领我们。面对世界，我们是否因怕他们就变软弱？

V4 创造穹苍的耶和华要为我们争战得胜，我们还惧怕什么呢？

二、v.5-9 要全然委身

V5 这些关于我们生活的话是“官长”来教导的。买了房子后没有奉献，说明这人没有感恩的心，只认为是靠着自己的能力只会来买房子，他没有跟神有关系，所以若出去打仗，很容易“阵亡”，被别人取代。

V6 神给我们种子，是让我们有收成的。不要因为怕之后没有果子吃而为自己“留一手”，以免上战场时心不专一。

V7 我们为自己谋算、以为自己精明的地方其实都是虚空的。先神后人再大地，我们要全然委身于神的国度。

V8 我们的害怕、胆怯，别人是可以看到的。生命如何，就会呈现出来，无法欺骗神。当我们委身，成为耶和华的军队，神会为我们负责。

三、v.10-20 要活出神的同在

我们就好像演一场戏一样，神和人都在观看。

V10-11 耶和华的军队要带下神的同在。神是良善、怜悯的，是给人机会的，所以百姓在打仗前要先向对方宣告“和睦的话”。当他们愿意以和睦回应时，这些人是归于我们，服事我们的。

V12-14 神并非要成为秦始皇，当初以色列要攻打的这些城是拜偶像、反对神的，他爱世人，但他也是公义圣洁的。

V16-18 对于神要我们得地为业的地方，他的吩咐又不一样。百姓和他们的子孙后代都要居住在那地，所以神要他们保持圣洁。我们是否无论在职场、家庭、或社会上都能分别为圣，不让世界沾染我们的生命？

V19-20 神的心意是要受造物生养众多。我们身为耶和华的军队，是否活出不一样的生命，还是效法这个世界？耶和华的军队要得地为业，永享神的福乐！
