Section One V1-4 To Set Apart
The Israelites saw their forefathers fall in the wilderness, apart from Joshua and Caleb, no one else entered the Promised Land. A lot of time, when we see people before us fell and backslide, do we also feel discouraged? Moses was talking to the Israelites that they were not orphans, they are God’s beloved children, and God was with them all the time. God wants us to treasure our identity as the children of God, He wants to build an intimate relationship with us. When we have this relationship with God, then we can receive His eternal everlasting blessings, the blessings not only for us but for our future generations.
God wants to work in partnership with us. When He created the Garden of Eden, He wanted people to manage the garden. He wants us to set our lives apart for Him, not to indulge in our selfish desires and not to be willful to do whatever we want in this world. Because this will only lead to our own destruction and death.
Furthermore, when we don’t set our lives apart for God, then we will easily look around and compare our lives with others. We will be under the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and start to decide for ourselves what is good and what is bad. We must destroy all things that stop us to go under the Tree of Life, we must set our lives apart as holy, and be determined to walk in the path of God.
Section Two V5-14 Follow God’s Choice
God will choose the best for us, but sometimes we do not see what God chose as good. He has already allocated the land that belongs to us, but we always want someone else’s portion. We should not choose what we want, because there are so many options in this world for us to choose from, even when looking for a church, we tend to choose what we like to see and what we want to see, instead of the church God wants us to be. Where is the place God wants us to be? God has chosen a place for us to make His Name abide, it’s time for us to choose now. Do we choose where God has chosen for us? If we do, then we should settle and never turn back.
Section Three V15-32 Keep and Obey
God wants us to enjoy His eternal blessings, but we must obey and follow His commandments, do not let ourselves fall into temptation and sinful desires. The world and the people around us might lure us into doing things that displease God, therefore we must always remember God’s teaching and obey it.
申命记 12 – 享耶和华所赐永远的福

面对倒在旷野中上一辈人，第二代的以色列百姓可能会心情复杂，而老摩西教导说，他们是蒙爱的，不是孤儿。神看重我们的身份，当我们不知道自己是谁的时候，我们就容易在拜偶像的迦南地迷失自己、进入死亡。在旷野的时候，大家只要跟着摩西走就好了，一旦进入迦南地，各人就有各人的居所。神明白我们每个人内心所思所想，他给我们的十诫表明了他对我们的爱。这十诫帮助那些进入迦南地的百姓能长久居住、蒙福，而不是昙花一现。很多时候我们看事情的眼光很狭窄、短浅，若能看远一点，我们才会看到神的供应是丰盛的。照着神给我们蒙福的法则，我们就能在应许之地得福了。神是爱，他不要我们在流奶与蜜之地迷失自己以致成为灭亡的人。神要给我们不是转瞬而逝的享受，而是世世代代永远的福气。
一、v.1-4 要分别为圣
神希望跟我们建立关系、与我们同工，而不是让我们放纵情欲、为所欲为。
V1 神吩咐百姓在他们所存活的日子谨守遵行他的一切教训。
V2-4 跟从神是没有灰色地带的，神教导百姓不要模糊不清，因为迦南地有很多偶像、假神，当地的人用自己的方式来拜偶像。我们敬拜神是否也只想按照自己的方式来做? 我们不喜欢被要求，又跟别人比较，总觉得别人有的比自己的好。神不要我们用与假神连接的方式来敬拜他，他要我们分别为圣，彻底毁坏生命中的一切偶像。
二、v.5-14 要照神所选择的
V5-7 进入迦南地之后，每个支派都有神为他们所选的敬拜他的地方。现在的人选择教会的标准是什么呢？是否因为喜欢其中的敬拜、讲道、活动、或者某人而留下来？这些都不是神所选择的，神所给我们的是蒙福、经历神、被教导的地方，不是让我们满足自己情欲的地方。在这个神所选择的地方，不仅是我们，我们的子孙后代都要蒙福。
V8-11 我们不是自己去选择，而是神为我们选择。当我们离开旷野、进入应许之地后，就要在神所为我们选择的地方安居立业，成为千年巨木，而不是到处挪动的盆栽。
三、v.15-32 要谨守遵行
V15-16 当时的人敬拜偶像是直接喝血 – 血代表生命，里面也有很多病毒。而神所要的敬拜方式是把血撒在祭坛上。神要我们健康，他不要我们跟迦南地的偶像立约。我们很容易看到自己因为信仰而有很多限制，却没有看到神也给我们自由能做很多的事。我们也很容易看到别人不好的地方，却不懂得学习去看到别人好的地方。我们要谨守遵行神借着权柄吩咐我们的教训，就得蒙保守。神并非要将我们关在监牢里，而是承受他永远的福。
